As part of the 25th International Aegean Offshore Sailing Race – Aegean Regatta 2026, the host islands of the event welcome crews and visitors with a rich programme of parallel activities, cultural events, guided tours, gastronomic experiences and musical happenings.
Through these activities, the authentic hospitality of the islands, their cultural and maritime traditions, local gastronomy, natural environment and distinctive identity are highlighted, enriching the racing experience of Aegean Regatta 2026 with a meaningful introduction to the islands and the people of the Aegean.
CHIOS

21:00 | Opening Ceremony of Aegean Regatta 2026
Official Opening Ceremony of the 25th International Aegean Offshore Sailing Race – Aegean Regatta 2026.
The evening programme includes:
- a presentation of traditional dances by the Volissos Cultural Association,
- a live concert by the music group “Otra Rota”,
- a welcome buffet for participants.
The activities in Chios have been designed to connect the opening of Aegean Regatta 2026 with the cultural heritage, gastronomy, maritime tradition and distinctive character of Amani and Northern Chios.

The lay day of Aegean Regatta 2026 in Fournoi Korseon gives crews and visitors the opportunity to discover the area’s distinctive cultural identity, history, archaeological heritage and authentic island hospitality.

Presentation of the Underwater Archaeological Research of Fournoi by Dr Georgios Koutsouflakis, Assistant Professor of Underwater Archaeology at the Department of History, Archaeology and Social Anthropology of the University of Thessaly.
Through the presentation, participants will have the opportunity to discover the unique underwater archaeological wealth of the Fournoi island complex, as well as the important research work being carried out in the area.
21:00 | Crew Hospitality & Cultural Event
The Municipality of Fournoi Korseon will welcome participants and visitors of Aegean Regatta 2026 with a hospitality dinner, accompanied by a performance of traditional dances by a local dance group.
The evening will offer crews an authentic experience of the musical and dance traditions, local identity and warm hospitality of Fournoi.
AGATHONISI

Agathonisi welcomes Aegean Regatta 2026 with a programme combining culture, music, gastronomy and authentic island hospitality.
Welcome at the Port
Upon the crews’ arrival, a welcome reception and refreshments for all participants will take place at the port.

Following the awards ceremony, participants will be offered a light meal and wine as part of the hospitality provided by the Municipality and the local community.
21:30 | Live Concert by Glykeria
A major live concert by Glykeria will take place at the port of Agathonisi.
Food and wine will continue to be offered to participants throughout the concert.
A special evening by the sea, centred on music, hospitality and the opportunity to discover the distinctive character of Agathonisi.
SAMOS

Arrival at Marathokampos
The first day of the stay in Samos is dedicated to the arrival of the competing boats and crews at Marathokampos.
Participants will have the opportunity to rest, discover the seaside settlement, visit the local market and restaurants, and enjoy the natural beauty of the area.

Discovering Karlovasi and Western Samos
Morning Tours
The Municipality of Western Samos will provide free buses departing from Ormos Marathokampou to Karlovasi, giving participants the opportunity to discover sites of particular natural, historical and cultural interest.
Participants will have the opportunity to:
- explore the Potami Waterfalls,
- visit the Castle and the Early Christian church,
- enjoy Potami Beach in Karlovasi,
- walk through the historic and commercial centre of Karlovasi,
- discover the local market and shops of the town.
Museum of Shipbuilding and Maritime Arts of the Aegean
As part of the parallel events of Aegean Regatta 2026, two organised visits and guided tours will take place at the Museum of Shipbuilding and Maritime Arts of the Aegean, for two groups of up to 25 participants each.

The guided tours will be conducted by Dr Kostas Damianidis, Architect and PhD in the History of Shipbuilding, President of the Association of Friends of the Museum of Shipbuilding and Maritime Arts of the Aegean.
Dr Damianidis has made a longstanding contribution to the research, documentation and promotion of traditional wooden shipbuilding and the maritime cultural heritage of the Aegean. He is the author of the Intangible Cultural Heritage Element Record “Traditional Wooden Shipbuilding” (2013) and a member of the drafting team of the Record “The Art of Traditional Lateen Sailing” (2025).
Through the guided tours, participants will have the opportunity to discover the history of Aegean wooden shipbuilding, traditional boatbuilding and sailing techniques, and the enduring relationship between island communities and the sea.
The activity creates a meaningful connection between the racing experience of the Aegean Regatta and the living maritime and shipbuilding heritage of the Aegean.
Kentouris Soap-Making Museum

Three free organised guided tours, each lasting 30 minutes, will be offered to three groups of up to 25 participants each, with one group per hour.
The Museum Shop will be open to visitors from 10:00 to 18:00.
Evening Welcome Event
In the evening, a major music and dance welcome event for crews and visitors will take place, dedicated to Samian hospitality and tradition.
The evening will include:
- live music by a local orchestra,
- traditional dance groups,
- an exhibition and tasting of local products,
- complimentary “Psiles Korfes” Samian wine, kindly sponsored by the United Winemaking Agricultural Cooperative of Samos (EOS Samos).

Awards Ceremony & Grand Closing Celebration
In the evening, the official Awards Ceremony for the winners of Aegean Regatta 2026 will take place.
Following the awards ceremony:
- a celebratory party with a DJ will follow, open to participants and visitors,
- throughout the evening, an exhibition of local products will be held, giving visitors the opportunity to discover and taste the gastronomic wealth of Samos.
The grand celebration in Marathokampos will mark the conclusion of the anniversary 25th Aegean Regatta, completing a journey that brings together the sea and sport with people, cultural and maritime heritage, gastronomy and the living traditions of the Aegean islands.
