“Discover the Beauty of the Aegean Sea”
Preparations are in full swing for the Aegean Regatta 2025, which will set sail from Myrina, Lemnos, and head towards Agios Efstratios, Plomari in Lesvos, and Mytilene, marking its 24th voyage through the magnificent Aegean Sea from 23 to 30 August.
The Aegean Regatta, organized by the General Secretariat for the Aegean and Island Policy of the Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Island Policy, is not just a sailing race but a unique experience that introduces participants to the living traditions, customs, and people of the Aegean, as well as to the unique products, flavors, and aromas of Aegean cuisine.
Registrations are ongoing at www.aegeanregatta.gr, while the Organizing Committee has released the promo video entitled “Discover the Beauty of the Aegean Sea”, available at the following link:
The Deputy Minister of Maritime Affairs & Island Policy, Stefanos Gikas, shared his message for the Aegean Regatta:
“The Aegean Regatta has established itself as a premier event in Greek and international sailing, offering an excellent opportunity to showcase the unparalleled natural beauty, cultural richness, and traditions of the Aegean islands.
It is a sporting event that fosters collaboration, noble competition, and the outward focus of our island regions, highlighting their potential on a global scale.
This year, sailors and visitors will have the chance to explore and enjoy the beautiful islands of Lemnos, Agios Efstratios, and Lesvos, each of which boasts its own unique identity.
The Ministry of Maritime Affairs & Insular Policy once again actively supports this year’s event through the General Secretariat of the Aegean and Island Policy, in collaboration with the Offshore Racing Committee of the Hellenic Sailing Federation. The primary goal is to promote and highlight our islands.”

The Aegean Regatta 2025 is organized by the General Secretariat for the Aegean and Island Policy of the Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Island Policy, in cooperation with the Offshore Racing Committee of the Hellenic Sailing Federation and the clubs: ASIATH Rhodes, LOIATH Mytilene, Nautical Club of Samos, Nautical Club of Chios, PEKEV Chios, with the 2025 coordinating club being the Nautical Club of Mytilene.
